1990, le Comit\u00e9 europ\u00e9en de normalisation (CEN) a entrepris la r\u00e9daction des Eurocodes, normes europ\u00e9ennes de conception, de dimensionnement et de justification des structures de b\u00e2timent et de g\u00e9nie civil, \u00e9tablissant un ensemble de r\u00e8gles techniques, dans le but de leur donner par la suite un statut de normes europ\u00e9ennes et pallier l&rsquo;absence d&rsquo;harmonisation entre ces r\u00e8gles \u00e0 travers l&rsquo;Europe. Ceci apparaissait en effet comme un obstacle au libre acc\u00e8s des entreprises de travaux ou des bureaux d&rsquo;\u00e9tudes techniques aux march\u00e9s des autres \u00e9tats membres.<br \/>\n(<i><small>Normes \u00e9labor\u00e9es sous mandat donn\u00e9 au CEN par la commission dans le cadre d&rsquo;une directive Europ\u00e9enne : DI 89\/106\u00a001\/12\/1988\u00a0Directive relative au rapprochement des dispositions l\u00e9gislatives, r\u00e9glementaires et administratives des \u00e9tats membres concernant les produits de construction).<\/small><\/i><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Le comit\u00e9 technique qui g\u00e8re ces travaux au sein du Comit\u00e9 europ\u00e9en de normalisation est le CEN\/TC 250 \u00ab\u00a0Eurocodes structuraux\u00a0\u00bb, pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 par l&rsquo;Allemagne. AFNOR, en tant que membre du CEN, coordonne le suivi de ces travaux sur le plan fran\u00e7ais.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Les Eurocodes sont \u00a0chacun subdivis\u00e9 en parties et sous-parties.
